The Glenn Hansen Orchestra
Music Lessons and Shows
The Glenn Hansen Orchestra began as the Colchester Civic Jazz Band, and still performs under that name. It has branched out with a new name to provide further services, as a teaching band, for the community. The orchestra provides entertainment for the public with training and experience for it’s students.
There are 15 members in the band. Five provide music lessons, but all are mentors for the students. There are over 100 students ranging from 5 to 55 years of age studying with the band.
The bands goal is to develop the musical talents of the students, and give them the professional experience of playing to a large audience. They also work with the students to help them obtain grants and scholarships for higher academic training.
